1921 trafen sich in der Schweiz eine Ärztin, ein Chemiker und ein Philosoph, um die anthroposophische Idee in die Praxis zu übersetzen: Ita Wegman, Oskar Schmiedel und Rudolf Steiner – der als geistiger Gründer gilt, dem Unternehmen seinen Namen gab und eigenhändig das Logo entwarf. Was als kleines Laboratorium im Umfeld des Goetheanums begann, wuchs über Jahrzehnte zu einer international tätigen Marke mit eigenen Heilpflanzengärten und einem fest verankerten Produktionsbetrieb. Weleda baut bis heute Heilpflanzen nach biologisch-dynamischen Grundsätzen an und bleibt dem Ursprungsgedanken verpflichtet: Naturkosmetik, die den Menschen als Einheit von Körper, Seele und Geist begreift.
